WhatsApp sales follow-up message templates
Most 'lost' deals aren't lost — the buyer just got busy, or your message got buried under a hundred others. The mistake is sending 'any update?' which asks the buyer to do work. A good follow-up removes friction: it gives them something small and easy to react to.
The easy-to-answer nudge
Hi [name], just following up on the quote for [product] — no rush at all! Quick one: are you still deciding on quantity, or was there something in the pricing/terms you wanted to adjust?
Why it works: An open 'any update?' invites silence because it's easy to ignore. Offering two concrete options gives the buyer a one-tap answer, which dramatically raises reply rates.
Add new value instead of just pinging
Hey [name] — while you were deciding, we just [got new stock in your size / added a bulk discount tier / improved lead time to X days]. Wanted to flag it in case it changes your numbers.
Why it works: A message that only says 'checking in' has zero reason to be answered. Attaching a genuine change gives the buyer an actual reason to reopen the math and reply.
The graceful last check-in
Hi [name], I don't want to keep bothering you — I'll leave this quote open for [X days] in case timing works out later. If it's a no for now, totally understand, and I'm always here when you're ready to reorder.
Why it works: Giving the buyer permission to say no, paradoxically, is what gets the honest answer — and it keeps the door open for a much later purchase instead of burning the relationship on repeated pings.
